9 News transcript

Video: Is a description of what is being shown on the screen.
Announcer: Refers to the news reader's comments below.
Video begins: In the middle of the screen shows a male Caucasian news reader with brown eyes and black hair with grey mixed into it like salt and pepper. He is wearing a dark navy blue suit jacket. Underneath that is a stripy white collared shirt with a prominent baby blue, and regular blue tie. As he speaks, the image behind the news reader shows a blurry looking nighttime city landscape with lights on. There are 2 high rise buildings which are situated behind and either side of him so he is seen centred. On the bottom left corner of the screen shows a white coloured Channel 9 News logo. The logo displays 3 rows of 3 dots. Directly under that is a blocked formation of the number 9 with a boxed top instead of a rounded top. Below that the word NEWS is capitalised.

Announcer: "Jumping out of a plane at ten thousand feet while their companion dogs wait patiently on the beach. Gold Coast Skydive taking a group of fourteen legally blind thrill seekers for the ride of their lives; over Kirra Beach."

Video: Scene shows an instructor with a skydiver strapped to the front of him as they descend out of the plane. The instructor is wearing a blue helmet, glasses and a face mask. He also has a camera strapped to the inside of his left wrist and is holding his arm out in front of the skydiver. The instructor's arm moves to the side like a bird to show both their faces. The instructor's facial expression can not be shown as the face mask is covering it. The skydiver is smiling. She is wearing a clear wind shield, goggles and looks calm with her eyes closed. As the instructor and skydiver start to fall from the plane, they do a somersault. As they do this, the scenery behind them is switching between the ground and the sky as they rotate in a spinning motion.

Video: The scene shows the beach and two dog guides. Dog on the left of screen is black lab with a brown harness and a red lead. The dog is laying down looking at the dog to the right of screen. The dog on the right of screen is male black lab with a harness and a black lead. This dog is sitting with his tongue hanging out.

Video: back to the camera on the instructor's arm, they are free falling face down in a vertical position and the skydiver is smiling with their arms spread out in front of them like Superman! They are currently falling at around two hundred and twenty kilometres an hour. Scene continues: From the camera on the instructor's arm, the parachute has now been deployed. You can now see the face and shoulders of both the skydiver and the instructor. The goggles cannot be seen in this clip. Behind them and below them, you can see the roofs of houses, buildings and trees.

Video: A female participant standing on the beach being interviewed. In the background there are people walking past with their dog guides. Female Participant being Interviewed: "It was so quick! We were like shuffling in the plane and then, boom! We were out of the plane!"

Video: Kim Pilic standing on the beach. You can only see her face and shoulders. Kim looks exhilarated!
Kim being interviewed: "That's what we're about! Creating opportunities just like anybody else with social inclusion and recreational activities."

Video: This scene shows the angle of the camera looking up at two tandem skydivers in the blue yellow and white parachutes open as they are landing on the beach.

Video: Back to the announcer. "Quite a change of pace for the skydivers who normally need a dog or cane to navigate.”

Video: Back to the beginning scene of the news reader with the same backdrop, however this time the logo has changed to a blue colour with a white box background next to the logo is a blue rectangle and in lighter blue writing, the words "Leap Of Faith" is displayed.
