A group photograph of 12 people standing next to each other on grass, with a portion of the brick gaol wall seen in the background, including rusty spiralling barbed wire fencing extending beyond the brick fence above and behind our head height. Four dog guides and one Assistance Dog are also seen in close proximity to their handlers.

EXPLORING BOGGO ROAD GAOL
By Kim Pilic

Today, Forward Steps Mobility enjoyed an interesting day exploring the grounds and buildings at Boggo Road Gaol in Brisbane during an historical tour. This included a tour of F Block, which housed a number of notorious prisoners as well as a feline inmate called "Fritz" the cat. Overall, this was a very informative tour. Following this activity, we applied our independent Orientation and Mobility travel skills in accessing the nearby Red Brick Hotel for a hearty pub lunch. It was a terrific day for all participants, including several dog guides.
