A TRIBUTE TO WESLEY - KEVIN'S DOG GUIDE
By Kim Pilic

Dear 'Wes' - I write this post as a tribute to you, from a heart of reflective gratitude. A special Dog Guide, who endeared yourself into the lives of countless people during your public interactions. In partnership, you faithfully guided Kevin over the years, with an exuberant willingness of heart and soul; a loyal and faithful canine

who demonstrated tremendous intelligence and initiative. You were Kevin's eyes, and so much more, aiding navigation in many environments locally and interstate. Furthermore, a champion of working dogs, who enhanced dignified, fluid and safe mobility. Your happy disposition and boisterous greetings at the door were an expression of excitement, in eager readiness to gear-up into your harness. I know we both shared a common love for Orientation and Mobility (O&M) adventures. I am deeply touched, thankful, honoured and privileged to have journeyed alongside you and Kevin for your entire working life. I am posting a photo of you at the Glink light rail station. I'm sure you would remember the occasion, exploring the Gold Coast University Hospital's station, ahead of the official opening. Both you and Kevin were VIPs on the day, with your acronym standing for, 'Very Important Pooch'!

Thank you, Wes, for being a treasured blessing, and for teaching me aspects about your lived experiences as a working dog.

Lovingly, your O&M adventure partner, Kim.
